TSAprofile

We are the Transportation Security Administration, formed immediately following the tragedies of Sept. 11. Our agency is a component of the Department of Homeland Security and is responsible for security of the nation's transportation systems.

With our state, local and regional partners, we oversee security for the highways, railroads, buses, mass transit systems, ports and the 450 U.S. airports. We employ approximately 50,000 people from Alaska to Puerto Rico to ensure your travels - by plane, train, automobile or ferry - are safe and secure.

TSA... Simply stated, our agency is about people.

Our work relies on thousands of dedicated security officers, air marshals, inspectors and staff members interacting with millions of travelers, truckers, longshoremen and officials in your community each day. We work with great people. We serve great people. We take immense pride in offering unparalleled security along with excellent customer service. A career at TSA offers more than just rewarding work. We are Federal employees so we enjoy those benefits. But more than that, a career at TSA includes benefits you may not be aware of. From Career Coaching, development and training to a Model Workplace - people are our most valuable resource, and we strive to be the best. Find out what you may be missing standing on the sidelines!
